Thousands Gather For The Traditional Saint John's Eve In Ciutadella

***EXCLUSIVE***Flamingos flying above shallow water create mesmerising splash patterns. The large pink birds spread their wings wide as they take off from the coastal ponds in unison. As they flew, the brightly-coloured flamingos left a trail of small splashes in the dark green ponds which are around one metre deep. Photographer Magali Chesnel, 44, used a drone to capture these bird's eye view photographs of the flamingos in flight and grazing in the saline ponds along the shore

Fifty shades of Salt

Aerial photographs of huge salt marshes look like close-ups of an eye shadow box. The multi-coloured marshes could also be mistaken for a pastel paint palette because of its rows of salt pools. Farmers can also be seen tending to the salt and birds can be seen flying across the site, showing the scale of the area in Gu�rande, Brittany, France. The 2,000 acre marshes date back to before the 9th century and now around 200 farmers still use the same method to harvest around 10,000 tonnes of sea-salt every year. Photographer Magali Chesnel used a drone to capture these photographs of the clay and water landscape's striking abstract colours.

Baby death

Luke Morgan, 26, and Emma Cole, 22. The parents of a two-month-old baby who died after suffering broken ribs and being smothered have been convicted of causing or allowing his death. See SWNS story SWMDbaby. A couple from Staffordshire have been jailed after they were found guilty of causing or allowing the death of their son. Luke Morgan, aged 26, and his partner Emma Cole, aged 22, were found guilty of causing or allowing the death of two-month-old Tyler Morgan and child cruelty on May 13, following a trial at Stafford Crown Court. Jurors heard Tyler had suffered injuries prior to his death in 2014. Morgan was jailed for a total of eight years today (June 21) at Stafford Crown Court. Cole was sentenced to five years.

Royal Conservatoire of Scotland BA Production Art & Design Student Kayrin Fraser, 21, from Inverness, puts the finishing touches to her replica brocade Games of Thrones Dress ahead of the Conservatoire's Production Arts and Design Degree Show which runs 26, 27, 28 June. The brocade dress which is replica of Sansa's wedding dress took over 200 hours to make.
