Ruby Karyo, 30, of Glen Burnie, Maryland has been gulping down her morning urine and spritzing it on her face since she was 19-years-old. The controversial practice, known as „urine therapy” has made Ruby the source of much derision, but she’s determined to spread the word. The writer/sales representative has even persuaded her boyfriend to try drinking his pee to quell his hair loss.

Toddler who caught deadly sepsis from chickenpox is now battling aggressive cancer

***EXCLUSIVE*** Little Fletcher Smith caught chickenpox from his sister on July 3 but showed signs something more serious was wrong when his head swelled up days later.  Mum Kerry, 32, rushed Fletcher to hospital, where doctors told her he had contracted sepsis, a potentially fatal illness, from one of the spots which had become infected. The boy was put on a course of intravenous antibiotics and discharged but after a few days Kerry noticed Fletcher's temperature was high so she took him to A&E. Doctors found he had another blood infection and further tests found he had suppressed bone marrow, which results in decreased blood cell levels. On July 25, just three weeks after catching chickenpox and two days after his first birthday, Fletcher was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer called acute myeloid leukemia.

Diabetic who struggled to walk has legs amputated

***EXCLUSIVE*** Ben Neil, 37, was left virtually housebound due to complications with type 1 diabetes. He was desperate to walk down the aisle at his wedding but doctors told him his legs were too weak. So he took the drastic decision to have his right leg amputated below the knee and replaced by a prosthetic leg in September 2017. Ben, an IT designer, fulfilled his dream of walking down the aisle when he married Kirsty, 31, last June. Despite using a walking stick, Ben was forced to spend six months in hospital due to pressure on his left leg. In May this year Ben went under the knife again to have his remaining limb removed and now walks perfectly on two false legs. Ben, from Clipstone, Notts., said: “I never thought the only way I would walk again was to have my legs cut off but that’s exactly what’s happened.”

Logan Maclean’s family grew concerned after his right leg was sore and he started limping in October 2016, but doctors dismissed it as a sore ankle. After the toddler from Largs, North Ayrshire started losing strength in his arm, he was taken back to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire.

The current record is held by Romulus in the Texas, USA, who measures 17 Hands - (5ft 8ins). Derrick is now just a quarter of an inch short but his owners say he will easily become a world record holder for biggest donkey. The donkey lives at Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary, Lincs.

Rare albino kangaroo

***EXCLUSIVE*** Adorable shots of a tiny newborn albino joey have surfaced after the baby kangaroo was delivered at a European Zoo. The cute, and rare, marsupial made an appearance at Skopje Zoo in Gradski Park, Macedonia and precious photos show the pink-eyed baby kangaroo nibbling a leaf, sheltering behind its mother’s leg; and exploring its new surroundings. The remarkable shots were captured by Macedonian photographer and Skopje Zoo enthusiast Goran Anastasovski who has been shooting at the animal facility for well over a decade. 

Chinese makeup brush goes global

***EXCLUSIVE*** Luyi, a rural county with a population of more than 1 million, has developed a goat-tail hair processing industry since 1978 when China began opening-up. But it mainly provided raw materials for cosmetics companies in coastal areas. Things began to change in 2015 when Liang Qingzhi, a makeup brush tycoon decided to transfer his business from Shenzhen to his hometown in Luyi. "The monthly salary is 3,000 yuan (about 476 U.S. dollars) back at home, 1,000 yuan less than in Shenzhen, but I can take care of my parents," Liang said. They produce OEM makeup brushes for international brands, including Procter & Gamble, L'Oreal, Chanel, Mary Kay and Estee Lauder. So far some 100 makeup-brush-related companies have settled in Luyi and form a complete industry chain that includes manufacturing of tail hair, tubes, aluminum skin, wooden handles and bags.
