Celebrities re-wear dazzling red carpet outfits as sustainable fashion is 'in'

There's a growing trend happening across the globe's star-studded events and award ceremonies. As celebs try to do their bit to encourage a more sustainable world, some have decided to reuse their own glamorous gowns - because recycled fashion is the next big thing. From Kate Moss to Kirsten Dunst, everyone appears to be dusting off their old gowns and parading the red carpets in their old looks. And who can blame them - some of these looks are truly fabulous. Some have even saved their old frocks for nearly half a century before they decided to dust them off for another event.

Kate Moss model left six years between outings for the vintage frock she first wore alongside then-boyfriend Johnny Depp. It's deja frou-frou as trend-setter gives her feathery gown a second airing.

Kate Middleton looked incredible when she stepped out in 2017 in this elegant number for the BAFTAs. Fast-forward two years and Kate is at it again. This time, the Duchess headed to the Portrait Gala in 2019 and still looked just as fabulous in the figure hugging ensemble.

Style icon Jane Fonda looked glamorous as she stepped out at the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Fast forward to 2020 and the high-profile actress and activist decided to jump on the sustainable trend. Jane donned the same outfit and added a chic new haircut for the 92nd Annual Academy Awards at Dolby Theatre.

In 2014, Cate Blanchett dazzled in a lacy black gown when she headed to the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards. Cate appeared to take a likining to her red carpet gown and saved it in her closet for another star-studded event. The actress donned the elegant number to the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival in 2018.

Actress Rita Moreno looked elegant as she donned a fabulous gown way back in 1960. The star is pictured alongside Oscar winner George Chakiris and Rock Hudson. Fast forward almost half a century and Rita is still dazzling as she dusted off her old gown.
