Mother depressed during lockdown creates real-life squirrel cafe

Norwich, Connecticut, United States: A mother became depressed during lockdown, so set up a real-life squirrel cafe. Kristen Flagg, 47, from Norwich, Connecticut, became down under quarantine, so started taking pictures of the little animals that visited her backyard. Soon, she had her husband building mini props to complete the cafe scene and „Rosie's Cafe” was born - and squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks and birds began to visit. Kristen explains: „My little cafe started because after being at my same job for 24 years for the first time ever I was no longer able to go to work due to quarantine. I have a husband named David and a 15-year-old son Hunter, and was feeling rather depressed and developing anxiety, especially since all we were hearing about was all the bad and scary things going on in the world. So not being able to go far I went to my yard. I started taking photos of all my little visitors in the yard squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks and birds. I convinced my husband to build me small picnic tables for my little friends to eat at. We joked I was building a cafe. Well it was not long where that little joke became a reality.”
