After losing her eye to cancer this KIM KARDASHIAN lookalike began sharing glam pics showing off her empty socket online and found love in the process

***EXCLUSIVE*** HORSHAM, ENGLAND: Care assistant Olivia Deane (23) from Horsham, West Sussex, UK, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in 2008, a rare cancer of the eye usually found in children under the age of four. It wasn’t until Olivia was 12 that the cancer was discovered during a routine sight test, and after 16 rounds of chemotherapy at Great Ormond Street Hospital, her eye was removed in December 2010, aged 15. She had a prosthetic eye made a month later and grew up worried she would never have a romantic relationship, believing no-one would be attracted to her because of her lazy eye. But the Kim Kardashian lookalike decided to take out her prosthetic eye and post a picture on Instagram in March 2019, wanting to connect with other people that had similar experiences. She soon found an online community of people with prosthetic eyes and has encouraged others to bare their empty sockets and embrace themselves. The post garnered a lot of attention, including comments from trolls that called her „one eyed pr**k”. But Olivia believes it is worth it to support other people in her situation, and receive their support in return. After sharing her journey on social media, Olivia’s confidence increased and she met her boyfriend Max (24) in February 2020. She is currently studying an NVQ in health and social care, and hopes one day to work at Great Ormond Street Hospital supporting young children with retinoblastoma.

Woman is on a mission to show that you can be sexy and have acne despite people asking her what’s wrong with her face

***EXCLUSIVE*** STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN: Personal assistant, Yoella Nygren (25) from Stockholm, Sweden, had clear skin during her teenage years and only suffered with the occasional spot, like most teens. In 2018 things changed for Yoella when stress and hormonal changes caused by endometriosis - a condition where small pieces of the womb lining are found outside the womb - resulted in her breaking out in acne. Yoella hated the way she looked with acne and no longer felt confident to go out. Yoella discovered the acne community on Instagram in April 2020 and she started to practice self-love, which helped her to fall in love with herself with or without acne. She started to share natural, unfiltered and makeup free pictures of herself on Instagram and although daunting at first, Yoella’s confidence has grown with every image she’s posted. This summer Yoella started going on nights out without makeup and even went on a date barefaced - something which she would have never dreamt of doing a couple of years ago. Yoella believes that going out without makeup is the biggest relief because she does not have to worry if her makeup has stayed in place. Despite her obvious beauty, Yoella is inundated with unsolicited „advice” from others who ask her if she is drinking enough water, why her face looks like it does and what happened to it. Yoella shares open and honest pictures of her skin online in a bid to change the stigma surrounding the condition, she wants to prove that someone can be happy, sexy and beautiful with acne.

DJ looks unrecognisable since losing almost half her body weight

***EXCLUSIVE*** WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND: After being turned away from a bridal shop because she was too fat for any of their dresses this woman lost over EIGHT STONE. Media and communications administrator, DJ Jarman (30) from Hamilton, New Zealand, grew up in a family that loved food. With little money to spend on good quality food, DJ developed an addiction to unhealthy snacks from a young age, eating huge portions of chips, fizzy drinks, lollies and chocolate at every opportunity. By her mid-twenties, DJ’s weight had ballooned to a whopping nineteen stone and she struggled to fit into her size 20 clothes. DJ hated the way she looked and was frustrated that shops often didn’t stock clothes large enough for her.  DJ hit rock bottom after visiting a bridal shop in Sydney in 2012 and was immediately told by staff that they definitely wouldn’t have anything in her size and that she would have to look elsewhere or get a dress specially tailored to fit her. At 28 and after over a decade of trying every diet possible to lose weight including intermittent fasting, keto and plant based diets with no success, DJ had had enough. Ashamed to meet her husband Josh’s (30) workmates out of fear of what they might think and not even wanting to catch up with her best friends, DJ knew that drastic action was required to turn her life around. In 2018, DJ decided that vertical gastric sleeve surgery was the right course of action. In April 2019, DJ went under the knife and now weighs an incredible 10st 9lbs and fits into a slender size eight. She works out six days a week and has more energy to play with her two kids Ella (7) and Christian (3).

Life on Earth was almost ended by carbon dioxide 252 million years ago, according to new research

***EXCLUSIVE*** A huge volcanic eruption in Siberia ejected massive quantities of the greenhouse gas - killing off 96 per cent of the world's creatures.  It made the seas acidic - providing a timely lesson for man-made climate change, warn scientists.  Study leader Dr Hana Jurikova, of the University of St Andrews, said: "The environmental deterioration took several thousands of years to unfold.  "The current, unprecedented emissions rate has already started to take a toll on the marine ecosystems."  When CO2 dissolves the oceans become more acidic - while the level of oxygen is reduced.  Since the Industrial Revolution they have absorbed over a quarter of that released from the burning of fossil fuels.

Humber Snipe car that helped facilitate secret trysts between Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII is set to go up for auction for £20,000

***EXCLUSIVE*** Wallis Simpson, an American divorcee who won the heart of the future King Edward VIII, is believed to have travelled around London in secret with her beau in a 1933 Humber Snipe.  And it could be yours when it goes under the hammer at Hansons Auctioneers on October 25 together with 15 more vintage Humbers. The Wallis Simpson-linked motor has a guide price of £20,000-£40,000 but most of the other classic cars have an affordable starting price of £1,000.  Allan Marshall, 64, from Hull, is auctioning off his remarkable motors, gathered over 60 years, first by his father Reg and then by him, because of spiralling maintenance and storage costs.  He said: “I was told the car had been used by Edward and Mrs Simpson because it was perfect for privacy. Thanks to its small back window you couldn’t see who was inside.”  The vehicle’s age ties in with the couple’s burgeoning romance. They first met at a fox-hunting weekend in 1931. By 1934 they were allegedly lovers and Prince Edward was said to be besotted by her. He liked her domineering manner and abrasive irreverence toward his position. He showered her with money and jewels and in 1935 holidayed with her in Europe.
